About Journey to Jerusalem

Originally conceived as a modern ‘take’ on the traditional ‘story’ of Easter, the scope and magnitude of Journey to Jerusalem soon surpassed the classic account of Jesus’ life. His death and resurrection has vast implications for us today, well beyond a simple historical account. ‘Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.’ 1 Cor 6:14.

Beginning with the coming of Jesus on Palm Sunday, Journey to Jerusalem steps through the well-known accounts of Jesus cleansing the temple, being challenged by the opposing Pharisees, sharing the last supper with His disciples, being arrested in the garden of Gethsemane and finally, crucified at Calvary. After intermission, Journey to Jerusalem begins to explain the hope of the New Jerusalem, the heavenly city of God. In the apostle John’s vision recorded in the book of Revelation he wrote, ‘And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God’. Rev 21:10. The challenge posed by such a concept, is the associated question many may ask themselves periodically – ‘Where is my journey through this life on earth leading?’
